Summer bucket list

I am the first to admit the cold snowy weather can really affect my mood. So the fact that spring is right around the corner has me excited planning all the fun activities we will soon be able to enjoy! Believe it or not, Utah has a ton of fun kid friendly things to do in the warmer months, and we have lots of fun things we want to try or do this summer.
Call this our summer in the Provo area bucket list.. Because if I start listing places out of Utah County this will be the longest post in America and no one will want to read the whole thing. You're welcome.

•Swimming and playing outside. We can't wait to bask in the warm sunshine on our skin all day everyday. At a park, or a fun swimming pool. One place we are really excited to try is The Provo Rec Center.
They have a really awesome splash pad and indoor outdoor pool area we have been hearing about!

•Pass of all passes
We got this pass for Christmas for us and the babes. It gets you into all sorts of activities, sporting events, but we are most excited to go to Seven Peaks. More water playing fun, I plan on getting really tan this year... will see if it happens! Last summer I was pregnant, fat, and swollen so it wasn't that fun to go swimming. This year will be great!

•Lindon aquatics center.
I feel like this place is a hidden gem, we have gone a few times last year and always had a good time. They have all sorts of play areas for little kids that are relatively shallow, a lazy river for relaxing, slides, deep pools, and outdoor surfing! What could be better! The perfect combination to please everyone and have a wonderful day in the sun.
Random photo I found on line, no I don't know this dude... not creepy at all.

~Utah has a pretty booming music scene, so we quite enjoy going to outdoor concerts. This year will be no different considering David's clients are growing in number and we love to go out and support each one! One of the perks of his job is knowing all these amazing musicians and getting to see them grow as artists. It's so fun to go see them perform live!

•Riverwoods mall has a cool outdoor stage that they have a lot of local bands play at, as well as they always have other fun events going on. We love going to eat, and then catching one of our favorite local singers or bands live right outside the restaurants.
It stays light out later at night in the summer, it's warm and beautiful with the sun setting. Heaven. Perfect setting to be outside with the fam enjoying so music. If it's still hot out, don't worry they have a little splash pad right infront of the stage for kids to jump around in!

•Stadium of fire is one of our traditions we will be continuing this year. It's a really fun outdoor concert in the byu Stadium that has a huge fire work show at the end. It also is always on 4th of July. It's an amazing way to celebrate every year! Some of the head liners in the past have included.. Kelly Clarkson, Cirque du soleil, Beach Boys, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Jonas Brothers to name a few. I'm not sure if they have announced who it will be this year yet, stay tuned!

•Concerts at the Scera outdoor shell theater! Bring a blanket or rent a chair, hang out and relax while enjoying some smooth jazz. Or something like that.

•FOOD. Hey, do I love food?? Yes, yes I do. Have I turned into a major foodie, would I love to try every little hole in the wall but delicious restaurant in Provo?? Yes I would! There are so many fun restaurants I have to try or look forward to continuing too go to this summer. A few on the list...

Sammy's cafe. Our favorite for shakes.
Yes, it's as delicious as it looks.

•Bam Bams BBQ. Another I have been meaning to try and am looking forward to it. The husband loves BBQ and gives this place a giant thumbs up!
I have heard super great things about this place, and when they throw a sold out sign up on the door half way through the day you know it must be good!

•Waffle luv food truck
I love a good waffle covered in Nutella and whipped cream.

•Sodalicious. I also love a good diet coke on a hot summers day, and frosted sugar cookie. Can't wait to try some of the clever name and drink flavors they have come up with!

•Blue Pablano
Another hole in the wall place I went and can't wait to go again. Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE a good taco!!!
Here's a screen shot of the photo from last time I went! Can you say yum!! It's a little tiny place off of Provo center street where you can sit outside and eat. It's so fun on a warm summers night.

•BYU Creamery, for delicious ice cream duh!

~I know there are tons of other little foodie places I want to try this summer, and I'll blog about them as I go! If you know of any place I need to try please leave it in the comments below! Or call me, and we can go together, I promise I'm lots of fun! If you love trying new delicious food as much as I do we will get a long great! I'm also looking for a really good pizza place, suggestions are appreciated!

•carnivals and fairs. We went to strawberry days in pleasant grove last year, and it was fun! Yummy food, cute little rides, boutiques selling fun stuff. I loved it. But again I was super pregnant so I spent most of the time walking and eating.
The fresh strawberries and cream is what it's all about!
There are a bunch of fairs and carnivals in July that I want attend around here! So much fun. If anyone has been to one that was super fun I need to know about let me know!

•Rodeo. Another summer thing to do with family and friends. Can't wait to go again this year! There are a bunch around these parts, YEEEE HAWW! Haha.

•Freedom Festival Grand Parade on July 4th! I have told David over and over we need to go to this but something always comes so we don't end up going. This year Kayden might actually enjoy it so we will give it a try! It's hard with little kids who can't sit still for long so will see how it goes.

•Para gliding. This is technically outside of Provo but I'm so excited for it I had to ad it to the list. David got us tickets for Christmas as a fun little thing to do together this year, but we are waiting for warmer weather.
This is going to be me peeps. Flying over your heads cool calm and collected with not a care in the world... Ok who am I kidding.. I'll probably be freaking out. BUT, I am still excited for a little danger. My mother in law was very worried when we told her we are doing this, "but you have kids." Don't worry Louise, we will request to fly at different times just incase. ;)

I'll be the first to admit, I wasn't super happy or excited about moving back to Orem/Provo. But everytime I see someone post about the fun things to do in this area it gets me pumped.
It's all about making the best out of where you are. Which this summer we plan to do fully! If anyone wants to join us on these adventures or has fun ones we need to ad to the list let me know!

Thanks for reading, Ta-Ta for now!!!
